Isabel’s Journey
from seeking status to living in self-trust
Like many of us, my path (at least at first), was guided by the heuristic that I should probably do the hardest (read: most prestigious, competitive, ‘impressive’) thing I could do.
For me, this meant studying applied mathematics and engineering, going into startups and venture capital early on and getting into a number of rooms where I was repeatedly told how ‘lucky’ I was to be there.
I was living what should have been the dream.
But why did it feel so wrong?
I couldn’t stop asking myself this question; the lived experience of this apparent dream-reality was far grimmer than the trophies of status and achievement I had been pursuing for so long lead me to believe it would be.
I eventually realized that my life was one big mosaic of “should”s — that I studied what I thought I should study, I went into a field I thought I should go into, and kept making choices that “made sense” to others, even when they did not feel right to me.
After much deliberation and a deep internal reckoning, I decided to depart from this path of “should”s to begin living a life aligned with my true desires. I decided to choose what felt right to me, even if it did not make sense to everyone else.
I used to be a high-achieving, do-the-hardest-thing-possible-because-I-can type of person, who discovered through the process of letting go of who I thought I “should” be, that being who you actually are is much, much better.
I dove into a process of self-discovery and self-actualization through my writing, where I unpacked my psyche in public, for the world to see. In these essays, I explored the lessons and revelations I was stumbling upon while finding my way back home to my true self.
This eventually blossomed into the three foundational offerings I now offer…
Each of these programs is designed to help you embark on your own journey of clarity, self-discovery and alignment, helping you dive into your inner world, cultivate your values, desires and sense of self, so that you can express yourself more fully and make choices that align with what you want to see more of in the world — instead of who you think you should be (we are against living a life of “should”s around here)!
Why Isabel Unraveled Exists:
The offerings I have created are here to fortify the future I want to see more of — a world where people are living lives they feel excited by and proud of, that are an embodiment of their unique gifts, intuitive power, and an honest sense of what is right for them.
I want to see…
• a world where the ‘work’ you do flows out of you naturally, because it is an expression of you and your gifts. Where even the challenges feel thrilling and joyful — because you genuinely want to be working on them.
• a world where acting on your ideas and creating what you envision feels like a natural expression of yourself.
• a world where you are acting courageously, ambitiously and with a sense of devotion to your mission and the work you are doing, while maintaining balanced, powerful, present relationships to yourself and others (i.e. being generative without sacrificing being present)
• a world where your life feels constructed for you, by you, intentionally.
• a world where your existence feels deeply aligned, enjoyable, energizing, and effortless.
• a world where the smartest people in the world are being as creative as possible.

All of my work is predicated on the importance of speaking truth. Living a life that is true to you first requires that you are honest with yourself. This process involves facing patterns, behaviours and stories that you have been telling yourself (or have been told about the world) that may not be true, and letting go of those narratives to replace them with what feels authentic, genuine and true now. Through embodying and pursuing honesty, we untangle false narratives and begin living a more sincere life, full of self-expression and intuition. Through a commitment to honesty, we can traverse parts of ourselves that are no longer aligned to hold onto, and give space to the desires and inner signals that are alive now to be actualized — gently, safely, and with a sense of curiosity that allows you to feel at ease, and release the attachment to being perceived in a certain way.

At the core of everything you see here is a commitment to self-expression. Whether that means making shifts or changes in your career, relationships, or how you relate to yourself, or whether it means sharing your ideas and creations with the world more freely - self-expression is foundational to transformation and to living a life that feels authentic, effortless and easeful.

Inner work requires you to honour yourself, even when it violates the image others have of you, who the world thinks you are, or even what you expect yourself to do, be, or become. By living courageously, you get to explore what it means to genuinely live out what feels most right to you. It takes courage to be honest with yourself, to express yourself, and to commit and devote yourself to the path in front of you, that you have crafted by going inwards. This work is built on your willingness to be courageous, bold and to embrace changes and growth as the journey unfolds. Courage requires you to feel the fear and do it anyway, which is what makes a beautiful and expressive life possible.

I work with people who are devoted to the work and to themselves. Introspection, self-honesty and taking courageous, bold action requires a sincere desire to make changes in your life, and a commitment to carrying the process through, even when it is confronting and challenging. Through embodying commitment and devotion, we can uncover what makes the most sense to us, and create a course of action and intention that feels right to devote ourselves to, even when it becomes challenging or demands a higher version of ourselves step forward.
What I want to see more of:
I want to see a world where people are living boldly,
taking responsibility for themselves and creating the lives they want to live by acting on their ideas and their own sense of what is right for them. I want more expression, more honesty, more courage, more devotion. I want more creation — more people sharing their ideas with the world. I want more connection, honesty, clarity, presence. More effortlessness.
Life shouldn’t feel like a burden! I want to see more thriving.
I want to help others find the way of living, doing and being that feels effortless.
